In a Box

Hey.

I’m here

I’m Queer,

And I’ve come to say:

Sometimes I’m quiet

Locked in a box,

Silent with family,

Unable to talk

Sometimes I’m loud

Flamboyant and proud

I stand up for gays

And refuse to be locked away

I want to make a difference

But sometimes it’s hard

To balance these worlds

That blend in my yard

I know I’ll get there someday

But for now I’m okay

With keeping the gay

Locked away

This poem is about:
Me
My family
My community

Appreciate your honesty

jacobi

you don't have to keep the gay locked away.

let your soul be clear

and be honest with yourself

screw the box

i love your words
