Befriending a Bomb

don't let the fuse burn too short
don't let it burn too fast
cause when that fuse is at its end
well that'll be my last

the last time I get to hear you
the first time without you here
no, don't let the bomb go off
let me unload all of your fear

its what I am here for
its what I want to do
I just want you to be safe
know that I'm always here for you

let me be your water
let me be your saving grace
I know its hard but trust me
look at me, look at my face

look in my eyes, what do you see?
look in my heart, you know its there
the love I hold for you is real
don't tell me it isn't fair

because for you to burn your fuse
all the way to its very end
no, THAT wouldn't be fair to ME
THAT would be MY end.
