Because I don't matter

I am angry
I am angry because my life doesn’t matter

I am angry because my struggles don’t matter
I am angry because when I get attacked in a mosque or at school it’s my fault

I am angry because when I show you what’s happening to me you turn a blind eye and say I had it coming

I am angry because you speak of justice only for your own but remember injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere

I am angry because you claim you are a feminist and women should have freedom to wear whatever she wants to wear but when you see what is happening to my sisters in India or France and how hijab is ban, you stay quite

I am angry because I am silenced as antisemitic if I bring oppression of my Palestinians brothers and sisters to your attention for the last twenty years

I am angry because you look at Ukraine and you are shocked how can this happen but when I am forced out of my home in Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan, there are no celebrities rushing to create crowdfund or millions welcoming refugees - I have no refuge

I am angry because my life, my struggles, my liberty, my freedom to speak freely, or my basic human right to life don’t matter

I am sad because I don’t matter

Muslima
