Anxiety (Don't Look)

Tue, 10/28/2014 - 14:16 -- GKent

Location

Don’t look beyond the curtain’s edge,

Please leave the veil alone.

A secret girl is hidden there,

You’ll wish you’d never known.

Keep her there, and lock her up,

And never let her out,

For if you do, you’ll soon fall prey

To panic and to doubt.

Her mind is just a mess, you see.

It runs and runs away;

Future, past, and the unknown:

They haunt her every day.

Uncertainty’s an enemy

We never can escape.

She’s left to fend its wolves away;

The fight’s behind the drapes.

Don’t let her out, she’s better off

In that secluded space.

She’s better off, I’m better off,

If she can’t show her face.
