And This is Why I Write

This is for the child, So young, Who thinks his parents don't care. Who sits up all night wondering, And hoping he'll do them well. This is for the girl, So scared, beaten and abused. By the man she thought she'd always love, her father, Who instead was just letting her be used. This is for the boy, so bright, who loves another man. And feels now only a broken heart, as they say he's wrong and try so hard to get it banned. This is for the girl, so beautiful, drowning in makeup and perfume. For society tells her the natural beauty beneath, is nothing anyone wants to consume. This is for the boy, so smart, loving every class he is in. but is bullied by the boys and girls, because being the "nerd in school, means never being able to fit in. This is for the girl, so tough, tired of being judged off lies. Who thinks she has to take her life away, instead of continuing and trying to get by. This is for the man, so grown, not sure if he's just different or out of control. He thinks, "You know what? I'm giving up." And runs. and runs. from all he's ever known. This is for the people, who are ready for a change. Boy. Girl. Man. or women. No matter what their age. This is for those who are ready to take a stand, and say what they need to say. There's always someone out there, Always, And they've felt of what you're going through today. Some days are filled with darkness, but we can be the light. We have a voice, and we CAN be heard. And this, This is why I write.
