And Then, The Princess Wakes Up
A sleeping beauty,
resting oh so peacefully,
rosy red lips,
long lash tips,
a darling doll,
out like a light,
with this in her drink,
there will be no fight.
After the fact,
what will she lack?
Did you stop to think,
did you stop to feel?
Did you believe it wasn’t real
because her eyes were closed?
Well, this is how the story goes.
My prince came, but he did leave.
He smiled at me, but he did bad things,
believing he was king,
twisting me like puppet strings.
while done in dark this tale I bring to face the light,
one of us has to do what’s right.
This Princess does not sleep forever,
this Princess’s tongue is clever,
and she will never let him get the better.
She’ll shake the world with her whirling words and wake up all those other girls.
She’ll rise in the morning with her golden curls,
She’ll don her crown and her pearls.
She’ll face the day and dry her eyes.
She is more than the scars on her thighs.
