And I smile

You make me smile in a time I forgot I knew how.

A twinkle in my eyes and a sweat on my brow

To stifle a laugh under breath made of steel

You taught me to laugh, to smile, and to feel

I’ve broken before like a plate on the wall like an egg on a table soon after it falls

So don’t tell me this pain in my chest can’t be true

I never thought I would say it but, I love you

I've loved you since days that we walked on the sand

those nights spent together, you holding my hand

You make my heart beat like I've just run a mile,

but above all these things you still make me smile
