Dear What You've Done in the Light

You know,

I’m always the one

Always, always, always the one

To try and keep the dying embers of ‘us’ alive.

I always fail

Because this, I had yet to realize, is a two-person struggle.

Hitori isn’t enough—you have to care, too—!

Why am I always the only one who loves?

Why do I feel so strongly?

Why do they always leave me?

I can’t rely or even think of other people

So for now, I’ll burn the bridge

Between my desire for companionship

And my knowledge and feeling of this desire.

“Let’s light it up.”
