Absorbed

A knock comes at my door

But I’m absorbed.

They ask to come back, reality calls

But I’m not ready to leave my nap; to fall

I’m absorbed in this fake reality

It’s a burning need

They give me what I want, and all I am.

I’m absorbed.

The characters dancing on the screen fill this need

I am complete

The pages take me away to lands of myth

And the shows and movies teach.

I’m absorbed

They have taught me all that I am

Of cunning, ambition, courage, and loyalty

The importance of family-

How family are those who stick by me.

I’m absorbed.

Others call it weird and a phase

But I know better than to stick to their cage.

They allow me to breathe and dream

And make my own reality

To never stick to expectation,

For how else will everything become magnificent?

I’m absorbed

And my fandoms need me just as much as I need them.
