Let down your hair
If castle doors my hands did crack
Pound palms till blood burst
Smashed on stone walls like pumpkin
It was all of my own invention
For lettuce green as grass
Grows unsafely in a garden
They claim the craving brings death
So on growing flesh, they munch
The tower, it’s much safer than below
No one can claim and crave you
When you’re locked away
Temping looks is a target for torment
I will never be abused again
No green leaves to grow greed
I stay here for princes are but thieves
Masking hunger by faux heroism
Yet still, I look below
At some humans, I wish to know
Smile and try to let the fantasy go
Of a man who truly shows his shadow
