burning love

Fri, 08/19/2016 - 09:44 -- mswart

When I met you I knew it was too good to be true

and I was right

while I thought gardening is what was bringing us together

it was actually tearing us apart

as I was watering your flowers and feeding your ego

you were tearing out weeds from me which weren’t weeds from the start

when I thought you were nurturing me with water and feeding me strength

I discovered you were drowning me out.

when I felt so yellow and knew it had to be from your glorious rays of sunshine

I’ve come to find that your rays were too close and were burning me alive.

now I was blue from the start

but you have turned me into the darkest shade of grey.
