A World In Pain

Location

This world is so full of hate,

so full of pain.

People starve and go hungry,

People war and die,

People live homeless,

while others stand idly by.

It's hard to open our eyes and look around,

because the truth of our world is painful.

But it's a pain so large it's becoming hard to ignore

We see it in the news,

We read it in the paper,

We hear it in our music

and still we're able to ignore it.

Each generation of children grow up

and becomes detached from the violence.

Murder and injustice become a normal thing.

They'll see it happen and walk away like its nothing.

It's not happening to them,

so why should they care?

This is the reason it never ends.

We're living in a world thats gone numb,

a world that doesn't care,

A world that doesn't care how many die,

A world that doesn't care how many cry,

how many people are alone.

As long as our self preservation is assured

the rest of the suffering world doesn't exist.

But the real question is,

How much longer can we ignore it?
