The nightmare that haunts me
Whether it’s morning or night
Isn’t just a nightmare.
It’s a reminder of my life.
Telling me I can never escape.
Shhh… we must whisper when we say this.
This is for you my regrettable desire
This is for the Love I thought we could’ve had
And the love we never will have
My body drifts along tranquil
black waters
I can stretch my fingertips out
and imagine trailing them in the onyx pool beneath me
Maybe I'll feel it stir under my hand
give way
cradle me
You walk lightly upon the earth
Made up of stardust and love.
Running through time in an unresting pace.
Awakening like the sun
Life is a dayOf a thousand hoursA million secondsA millennia's worthOf cool breezes and breathsThat escape past our lipsIn smiles and sighs and laughsDrawn unsuspecting from our souls
