"Counselor" by Zarinah Alarcon
I’m that girl that sits up
late at night with thoughts
constantly running through my head.
The first time I walked in
I smelled the scent of her candles and penciled in meetings
She said speak
So I spoke
Then I cried.
It began.
The next few consultations
I have an addiction, that I can't seem to break.
I tend to help others fix their mistakes.
I put others' happiness before my very own,
and I make sure their potential becomes known.
