A Nightmare

I see it when I close my eyes,
I see it right before the sunlight rise,
I see it in my darkest visions,
I see it when the eerie glow of my thoughts envision.
It has eyes, dark, like a black hole
I died to sleep
Perchance to dream
To escape this old world
With its horrors yet untold.
But, alas, I stirred
For a frightful air
Disturbed my slumber
Causing me great despair.
Walking, walking
Endless walking
Where am I going?
Just a long winding road
Am I Dorothy?
She bought me a necklace because “It reminds me of you”
Now she post of picture of it on Snapchat calling it “nightmare fuel”
Nightmare fuel? Nightmare fuel?
As the room gets smaller
And the voices get louder
I remind myself to breath
Death is the only thing that is permanent
Say it with me: Bed, Mirror, dresser, carpet, blanket
Once more, darling ground yourself
Bless her little heart
She gets scared at night
Black ghost, black souls, black places she doesn't even know
Bless her little heart, she's all on her own
She feels it's hands creeping around her ankles
I do not want to watch miracles or happy ending because it is inevitable we all will go
