circumstance

I think you and I both know
Our souls hail from the same star.
We burned together ages ago
As our love and light shone far.
But here and now we cannot be
Timing is a terrible plight,
Circumstance may be the direct reflection of your purpose or your purpose maybe the direct reflection of your circumstance.... which defines you
Dear Destiny,
With words unspoken, you decide our fate
From the things we love to the things we hate
Who we fall in love with, and who we can't stand
Our every last wish, our every last demand
All over America, there are towns
And yet no one knows them
Except the citizens themselves
And can you blame them?
(It is their right, after all, to know the town they live in)
Each and every day is like another
Over again, her life is on replay
So much like a broken record player
It can always break her heart to pieces
And bring seas raining from her eyes
I walk the halls that grow increasingly familiar
Yet at the same time, recognition becomes harder
These faces? These people? Strangers.
As the years go by, the ones I know
Disappear.
I am drawn towards two different things,
a battle
of knowledge and heart,
in which I am losing.
The struggle of maintaining both only hurts.
But do I care if I am judged cruely?
The rain splashes down, seeping into the thirsty earth.
Cars swerve with tension as the drivers cringe in apprehension.
