A distorted view that is not true
damages the youth of the generations that pass through
Beneath the filters, the flawless scene
Anxiety reignsBut it is normal in lifeStress won't finish me
You should feel no shamebeing scared is part of lifejust don't let them win
I feel safer hidden, safer unexposed.
It’s easier to wear a mask,
To hide my face, hide all emotions.
I am able to cry and have it come off as laughter.

Take a breath
Take a break
Take a step

Lurking ‘neath my bed
But, no one ever told me
‘Bout the monsters in my head
Night lights and my teddy bears
All kept those beasts at bay
