End of the rope
End of the line
The burning in their lungs
Is everything less than divine
They beg and they call out
For their family to stop
But only they can hear their own thoughts
Pandora! NO! do not open up that inbox!
you will release all evil and sin!
they will not forgive you for being unorthodox!
unless they do not figure out it is you, who has long luscious locks
In the midst of winter I hear them cry,
For all the nights I have said goodbye.
Let thy heart rest on mine, as I will fill it with red wine.
With every touch of passion, my skin has all the answers,
Pages upon pages and pages and pages and pages
appear on his desk before he is done
for the night; he stays, and he works, until
the clock strikes eleven. Eyes bleary,
The team floats into the back of gym, passing the torches that burn with a bright red flame,
lyres and violis sing harmoniously, signaling the start of the ballgame.
Dark it was, all around
Zero light and zero sound
And there sat Psyche, anxious and afraid
At the horrible mistake she might have made
Reading back through her texts, scrolling back through her phone
Nessie, for years, had been the best
That there ever was in Lake Loch Ness
People would come from miles round
Just to picture her, from the ground
On their film of camera or their phone
Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair
Rapunzel, Rapunzel, why do you stay in your lair?
Don’t you see there is a whole world out there?
While you sit and wait
Time passes by
Any more sitting-
The saying goes “Don’t fly to close to the sun”
You’ll only burn yourself in the end
It was just too good to be true
Isn’t that what they say?
Or did the luck
The epic heroes seem gone
But their spirits live on
In the hearts of brave souls
Who risk much to find gold
Sirens no longer lure
But their voices are heard
In the songs on repeat
I'm very scary, or so it seems; I'm really very sweet. Look past my writhing snaked and look at me: my beauty, my grace, my kindness inside. Ha! Now I have enchanted you forever with my Medusa vibes.
Good and evil,
Heaven and Nevaeh,
Amorous and grotesque,
Brother and brother,
Cousins alike,
Ares and Hephaestus.
Modern Myths Poem
If myths were made for modern day
Gods and beasts would surely stay
As divine beings greater than us
Who rule our world so dangerous
With monsters and beasts always near
Loki went to Comic Con
One summer afternoon.
He dressed up as his Marvel self
Grinning like a loon.
He saw some Thors and Iron Mans
And green eyes glint in knowing
