No Pain, No Gain
My parents used to rush to me when I scraped my knee
When I said I had an “ouchy”
They used to worry about me
So much so that they could not sleep
Out the womb, fresh air, I finally feel the breeze.
Couple years later, I’m walkin, wobbly in the knees.
Now I’m finally in pre-school, tryna figure what I wanted to be.
There comes a time when you realize
that time just loves to fly
When apple juice becomes beer
When first jobs become careers
When bikes turn into cars
And when lollipops turn into cigars
I realized I was grown up
When I learned to apply makeup
And when I went through my first break up
There were a lot of things that molded me
Into everything I wanted to be
