Veil

I have worlds contained within me
that hum as I step between them
that sigh as I step through
shadowed spaces. and dazzling places.
a hallway beyond the veil
a dark room left wanting
You cannot see
What is unseen.
You cannot feel
What is not felt.
The lines between
Do not fall to observe.
The truth is there
It is just unheard.
Your eye can tell
Sometimes we don't see
Something is causing us
Hurt
Until someone lifts
That veil
Your eyes become
Opened to the true
Nature of the thing
Sometimes it hurts
To see the truth
I've gone through adequate measures to beat the monster that resides within me
This thing lay secreted beneath the surface of my skin
Readying to rupture out at any which moment
Restrained by society with a death grip,
Over what I am, they are so obsessive.
I make a move, they turn it back,
Replacing my face with a mask.
Corrupting my very soul,
If I close my eyes, I can hear them
The quiet mumbling of the crowd
Voices mingling into one loud whisper
so many reasons to hate myselfmake for so little time to sleepsilent Insomnia frequents my bedsideshe echoes each secret I keep
Darkness growing;
Fed by her tears.
Flooding her cheeks,
Mascara and eyeliner
Run; streaked.
