Repeat.
Monsters growl and hunt.
My life growls and hunts, ME
First.
It’s you who taught me how to read,
Who taught me how to write,
Who taught me much of what I know,
And tucked me in at night.
Second.
You were my teacher and my friend,
Anger bubbling
bursting within me
Why can't I understand
Why can't I comprehend
One equation after another
My heart sinks with every wrong turn
Physics is a trap, Algebra a snare
My mentor, O my mentor.
You are technology,
you mess with my brain's biology,
you are complicated, yet I owe you an apology.
You have caused me great deals of stress,
however I must confess,
Everyday my eyes burst open.
Everyday I become someone new.
The person I was yesterday when my eyes closed is now gone,
and he teaches me how to change.
I was not perfect yesterday,
nor am I today.
To mentor means to guide, to guide means to navigate. Navigation is part of the reason I’m who I am today.
WE WOKE UP FEELING JOYOUS AND RELIEVED
YOUR WORDS WERE LIKE A SOOTHING BALM TO OUR DREAMS
THEY FREED US FROM EVERY PAIN THAT HELD US DOWN.
YOUR PRESENCE IN OUR LIVES COULD BE COMPARED;
