you wake up every day
wondering why you woke up.
why your mother loves you
even though you use her money.
why your dad is still there.
I've never seen you
But I guess that doesn't mean you're not there
It's just that people don't really have a clue
I mean about you
They use you to scare
They say they preach your name
“I don’t want to be a princess!”
No I don’t want to be one if it means I can’t be with her.
America, a country baptized in blood and built on the backs of those who wouldn't know the freedom she promised until far after her completion.
