A queen does not bow to ignorance
Nor belligerence
Nor any man who dares to spare her life in her house
This here is a woman's world
A queen has no need for pearls
Loves the way her body swirls
She’s THAT Black girl
The one trapped in the borderlands of what it means to be Black and Woman
Her hypervisibility causes her to remain unseen
And her experiences leave her in between, her story left unheard

It started off as a “getting to know you”
The “getting to know you” turned into a new friendship
If it was for me. It could be meant to be. There's a chance for you and me. Asking
me for a dance is like counting the stars by hand. Asking me for my hand, is like one
Cinderella had her slipper, which was made of glass. Something so small, yet
so delicate. And I, much like cinderella, have something made of galss. Something

But she wasn't shy.
She had an attitude of a lioness.
The mindset of Angela Davis.
And a spirit that God would soon bless.
She was gracious on a daily basis.
