#Day2 - August 2017
Love shot down like a thug on the street..
Heart shattered like broken glass on a beat..
Sound waves rumbling through my head like a stampede..
Seventh of the eightSeveral wishes did cameWith just two calls andDid it all end
By day the sun plays in her hair.
He stretches in streaks through the sky,
And plays there in the strands.
By night the stars twinkle in August air.
She lies there wide-eyed.
"So this is life?"
I cannot begin to imagine
What comes within this baggage
Friendship! What a slippy, messy slope?!!
A non-romantic relationship
Where two hearts begin to elope
Today I say good morning to the sun!
Usually it is the sun that wakes me up every single day.
But today is special...
At six a.m. it is I smiling down as the Sun
Stirred from his deep, deep slumber.
Darkness isn't always bad.
Darkness doesn't make you mad
Darkness isn't always wrong
It shouldn't be feared upon.
It is a normal phenomenon in our world
I am chained in a cage. Exposed and vulnerable like a nerve.
But the joke is on them.
I may be trapped, but I'm not a captive.
The fire in me would make Hades run for the hills.
The single white dividing line beats past,
Not measuring blurred distance or rhythmic time,
But the spinning of wheels over asphalt.
Mississippi summers creep in through
Latched windows and locked doors,
What We Really See
Nature is all around us
Branches flow with the wind
Leaves fall from the trees
Flowers and grass fade away, but God's word will never change, Leaves turn petals fall, Winds roar, Trees grow tall, Sun shines, Rivers gleam, From the depths of a rushing stream, Ending the river shrinks in size, To the river's great demise, Thro

Such passion
Such grace
Hate is not her fashion
Yet tears fall from her face
She took my heart
Without a feeling
Tore it apart
And here I sit
Still healing
In this pit

In the summer we let our feet run black with dirt and pavement.
Our heels pounded the sidewalks, our skin slapped the streets;
each bound stung a little more than the one before.
It’s August, light of glowing yellow and calm blue, orange and pink sunsets,
The grass crunchy and warm, tanning brown below radiant rays
The last days of summer vacation do not die so quickly
This is your year to leave the nest
Your mother cries,
Your father cries,
Wishing you all the best
This is the year you must look after your own health
Time to take the claws out and fend for yourself
The drone of fans awakes you from your sleep
And light sneaks in around your windowsill.
The chill of night the new day will not keep,
Yet work must start where all the blades are still.
Close your eyes
Feel the breeze
Hear the wind
In the trees
Shed a tear
Say goodbye
Life is flying
Right on by
New beginning
a fresh start
Leaving home
Breaks your heart
