Poems from a.lee1
This is us,
Will you accept us as is?
Us, with our innumerable flaws,
Our intolerable actions,
Our inhuman violence,
The feats that make...
Light disappears
Hidden below the horizon
Winter trees
The skeletons of hopes
Claw at the remaining light
And devour it amongst themselves...
Swallow the ash
Of your own unforgiveness
You brought yourself here,
So climb out of the pit
Your own tongue dug for itself
Face your own...
Would you wander the desert
To find truth?
Would you wonder at the seas of sand?
The murky shadows that live beneath your feet
Would become...
Come, down
Down into the dust
Where slanderers are kings
And lies are just as trustworthy
As the truth
And both are sought out
They huddle...
