There are days when one feels melancholy
But to be sanguine is preferable
Wanting to keep it all out of the mind
But it somehow creeps...
You query why I wear this mask
It magnifies my virtues
That would be hidden otherwise
Frozen in a single countenance
The unseen features...
It rains into the gutter after you have felt warm
It rains when feelings flutter about into a storm
It rains just as you ponder how to...
There I sat as a knight with a crown,
At a table of friends who eliminated my frown.
As I departed and walked across a bridge,
The chirping...
It is easier to achieve a nightmare
Than it is to achieve a dream
Only within can you search for the right flare
Strong enough to endure...
