Poems from A Finch
Oh how dreadful! Oh how sad
That the night is starless.
This darkness leaves me mad
Lonely, and sleepless.
How am I to fill my dreams...
I reckon now that I’m insane
And I think you would so too.
It seems I still have love for you
That reason cannot explain.
Alas, though...
Sleep well? I won’t, I can’t at all.
How can one sleep as stars pass by
In everlasting sprawl,
In rise and subtle fall.
It seems no matter...
Good night to all my fellow dreamers,
May we meet again in dreams.
For night was not made for the sleepers
But for us dreamers it seems...
Why do I miss you so, our time was not enough.
We met, we danced, we loved,
and then we fell away.
I wonder could you feel the same...
