You're Cool

Location

I bet you think you’re so cool

Making that other kid feel like a fool

You think he wants to hear this crap when he comes to school?

What you do is ignorant and by far, very cruel

You don’t know what she goes through when she is home

Her abusive parents make her feel that she’s all alone

Oh, but you didn’t know that, how could you?

The only times you see her are periods one and two

But it’s all in good fun right, what’s the harm?

Well, why don’t you ask those little boo-boos on her arm?

She feels ugly, like nobody will want her

That’s why somebody’s out there molesting someone’s little daughter

Oh, so now you want to feel sad and bad

Well, I don’t care, because right, now I’m mad

You make these kids feel like their nothing and have nothing to live for

That’s why little Jimmy doesn’t come to class anymore

He’s gone all because you wanted to have your fun

Good job guy, you’re the reason for someone’s dead son

I hate when people have to down one another

Don’t you idiots know that this is someone’s sister or brother?

But it’s my fault; I’m guilty too

I saw you talk about them, and did nothing to stop you

I watched or looked away, and always kept silent

And I always hear the aftermath which is suicide or violence

So I guess this anger built up inside is not towards you, but me

But could you blame someone for feeling so angry?

It’s today that I say something and take a stand

I wrote this poem on my 18th birthday, it’s time to be a man
