The Young Man

Location

The young man in the mirror is me,

His broad shoulders show his age,

My head starts to question,

Is this my own reflection,

Which is staring me face to face.

The young man in the mirror is aging ,

Off to college is he,

Will it be 2 years,

Will it be 4,

Or is he as ill-prepared as me.

He is growing,

He is changing,

He's much older than he was last year.

His eyes grew greener,

His height is taller,

His adult lifeis coming quite near.

I have always just been a kid,

the person I am is no longer seen,

I am innocent,

I am dependent,

Yet the young man in the mirror is me.
