You Are The World

I love you because...

Your arms are coming home;

warming me like a hearth,

without the fear of its flame.

Your voice is a stream;

free, and always speaking truthfully,

yet never carving pieces of me away.

You are a tree, a friendly cover from the storm,

but there is always room for us each to grow.

You are an ocean of light,

waves crashing against me

only to lift darkness, not to change my shoreline.

You are a flower of beauty,

yet I hear a meaning deeper in your roots.

You are a bee who spreads that beauty widely,

Each beat of your wings bringing me joy.

You are a butterfly,

floating free on the wind of my love,

always returning back to me.

And because I love you,

I am the same

for you.
