To Yesterday

So close the day that's gone and yet so far;

One step behind, untraceable it stands.

Some with their tortured souls and minds make war,

And don't recall the glory of the lands

Through which they once have past. Some, to this place,

Escape in refuge, seaking pains reliefs.

For memories sweet, reverse of time the pace.

In fantasies their hearts from harsh beliefs

do rest. But present days we shall not miss.

Eternally the pendulum will swing;

Yet don't neglect of days to reminice.

To golden memories your souls may cling.

One can't retrieve the light of suns now set,

But catch the glimpse. Memories, ne'er forget.
