Written Consequences

Sathvika G.

Even though he blamed his consequences on the stars,

It was truly his desperation that was the cause.

Because he cherished a forbidden love,

He had kept it a secret from all the world.

For the world was wide and broad,

He hoped to venture into its arms

With the love he cannot see.

It was a wish that was beyond the truth,

For he could never run from the place

That held him tight to the ground.

Then that dreaded night had come his way,

Before he had the courage to let his heart break.

His father and what seemed like a hundred men,

Came storming through the already broken doors,

To his heart and what had formed his soul.

The night outside was cold and still,

As if it knew what was coming,

For the boy that had found love,

That he could not love,

And could not be with.

It was a wonder

That the boy had found his way

To his love

That he could not touch.

Soon time had run its course,

And the boy had said his final words.

It was then he realized

Up in the stars that,

Even though he blamed his consequences on the stars,

It was truly his desperation that was the cause.

As he watched his love from above,

He knew he had took it too far.

For it was not worth

The consequence of his forbidden love.

Now he knows

That he had written his fate.

Not that fate had picked his end.

Because in his past,

Even though he blamed his consequences on the stars,

It was truly his desperation that was the cause.
