Big decisions

Different choices buzzing around my head

So many, too many

They all ask about your future

Tell you to pick the standard jobs, take the typical path of life

All I can hear are voices

Be a doctor

Be a therapist

Be a teacher

I fall under the spell

I can be those things, if I wanted

I can do anything I desired

But I don’t want the ordinary life

I want to make a difference

By writing

Writing makes people feel less alone

Writing makes people feel more understood

Writing unites everyone and everything together

Writing can take you to a different world

Writing can bring you back to reality  

Writing can change lives

This job changes lives

I will change lives
