A World Without Music

A world without music is a world with no voice,

A life without expression or truth.

Without its ethereal pitches and rhythms,

Bright colors fade to dull palette hues.

I sing with my soul, I play with my heart,

Piano keys appear in my dreams.

I listen to every unique vocal part

In choirs that, with ease, welcome me.

A dynamic raise, crescendos that reach

For something outside of my grasp.

A feeling of honor to be singing these notes,

As the staff comes to life just like that.

I am never alone, I am never depressed,

I do not long for anything more,

For my constant companion and lifelong friend

Is the music that makes my happiness soar.
