Words are the Power

I became a poet because I knew it was real

It felt so empowering to make others feel

Have them feel what I felt

With words

Merely words

I began as a poet in song, with melodies

Intertwining the thoughts, a tune, and harmonies

But they meant so much more

The words

Always words

Words are the power of the mind and soul

To describe the world around us as one complete whole

And though there are deep holes

That seem indescribable

We know what we mean

And the rest is inevitable

No matter in song, aloud, or on paper

The ideas did not need to be ground breakers

As long as they meant

Meant something to me

Well, that’s all that mattered

For me to feel free
