To all that I am and all I am not,
I confess, it was for the better you left
me behind, all alone with only the strength of my thoughts.
You stole my soul, they will convict you of theft.
It was best, you let me become who I am.
My aching body, spills onto a bloody sheet
I see all that is lost within them,
I am a heart full of love, but I feel my defeat.
In my dreams, I am not carried to term
My mother forgets to water the seeds
in her womb. When I wake, I look to affirm
that I'm truly a person here with needs.
I say it like a chant; I exist, I exist,
and I am not something to be dismissed
