A Woman With Sad Eyes

Location

a woman with sad eyes

belongs to a species

all unto her own

she wears her grief as pearl earrings

and sings melodies as she makes the bed

she drinks earl-grey tea

and leaves the lipstick stained mug

on the window sill

cloudy weather omits unsatisfied desires

of the mere human principle of feeling

and desolate rooms are flooded

with the sultry pleading of lonely sirens

at night she wanders

into a state of melancholia

and ventures unclothed

through streets that never end
