Wildfire

Location

The lies grow like wildfire, spreading everyday.

As soon as i think things settle down,

a thought ignites the flame

and it blazes through my world,

burning down,

the image I have made.

Better bite my tongue, seal it up

lock my thoughts inside my brain.

I was warned about loose lips sinking ships,

but i chose to take the plunge,

as the lies poured out like restless waves,

I knew the damage was done and down i sunk,

into the ocean blue,

where the resentment grew,

as I watched my ship fall;

captain of a pile of wreckage,

knowing I could've ended it all.
