Why do I write, you ask? Well, let me tell you.

I write to let you know

How I feel

How I miss you

How I resent what happened

I write to let people hear

The eloquence of vowels

The harshness of consonants

The volume that the human voice can reach

I write to be known

To be sought out

To be loved

To be hated

I write to feel

I write to let out

All of the hurt, the guilt, the shame

All of the happy, the exhilarant, and the fascination

I write to dream

About you

About my future

About my favorite things

I write to figure things out

The certain way a person laughs

The certain way a person talks

I want to know the answer to everything

I know I never will

And that’s why I write

     I   I
