Why are you shaking?

You asked me why I am shaking.

Because I am unable to sit still with you.

I want to be closer.

So close the only air I breathe

is the air you exhale.

I want the only space I take up

to be the space already occupied by you.

You asked me why I am shaking.

Because my insides have been awakened by you

and my thighs have become too heavy

to lift without the help of your hands.

Your hands.

I shake under the touch of them.

And every ripple underneath them

creates a tsunami inside me.
