Where did these thoughts come from?

Where did these thoughts come from?

The sloshing waters of the world,

Slammed into a pint glass,

Circumference frosted,

Salty and dripping.

Where did these thoughts come from?

Anxiety.

The subzero topsoil of the tundra,

Buried beneath blinding snow,

Incompatible for growth,

Isolated and useless.

Where did these thoughts come from?

Depression.

The dwindled end of a frigid, crystal spear,

Suspended in unsupported dysphoria,

a dripping, entangling stretch,

Thawing and becoming.

Where did these thoughts come from?

Compassion.

A lonesome and solitudinous sprout,

Forges an encompassing bond

Of passion despite fragility,

Connects and begins.

Where did these thoughts come from?

Love.
