What's Playing in my Head

Deserted in the desert sand

What I need is not in my hand.

Left alone sitting on stone

Can't call home, don't have my phone.

There is one thing I need

One thing I crave

One thing that surely can save

My breath, my heart

that will keep me from falling apart.

The voice I may have

might not produce sound

it's the song in my head

that continues to pound.

This may be strange,

A little odd.

But nothing else can

replace the space.

If I were to be

In a world without sound.

If there were to be

A place without a cloud.

Then there would not be

A place for me.

Deserted in the desert sand

What I need is not in my hand.

It plays in my head,

Repeating a tune

The music is mine

The birds think so too

What plays in my head

Keeps me afloat

The music, my heart

Keeps me,

from falling apart
