What Your Love Can Do

My heart skips every time I see you.

My pulse races when you’re in my presence.

I feel like my love for you is so true.

I think of you even in your absence.

You occupy my mind throughout the day.

I don’t want to believe what I’m feeling,

But it’s like these feelings are here to stay.

The truth is: my heart is what you’re stealing.

You make the sun come out when there is rain,

And my love for you continues to grow.

Though words in this sonnet cannot explain,

I just really wanted to let you know:

As long as the Earth spins and eyes can see,

A place in my heart is where you will be.
