What we had is nothing but a memory now
And that is all it will ever be from now on

A kiss at the beach, pushing on a swing
Your eyes glued to me, a simple dance
A hug when all else failed
An “I love you” at every cute moment
Laying under the stars
Tickle fights on the couch
Sweet melodies sung in the thought of you
Simple words put into sentences that will last a lifetime
A slender hand intertwined with a strong one
Walks where anything could be said
And passionate moments that only the trees could see

What we had is nothing but a memory now
And that is all it will ever be from now on
