What If?

What do you do when the words “it’s okay,”

 just simply aren’t true?

What can be done when the body aches against the phrase,

stomach tied tight in webs like spiders,

tongue standing still like a silent statue?

What if “everything will be alright”

just doesn’t feel like honesty?

What if the fine line between bad and dangerous was not crossed,

but pulverized-- like meat to a blender?

What then?
