And I am good at it

I have learned to agree

When my body is shamed

To not tell anyone

Unless I want to be blamed

To cut my hands instead of wrists

To pretend I didn't do it, it was an accident 

Our society has taught is to hate ourselves

 

And only now

Have I begun to learn

How to love my body

 

And my scarred hands

Remind me why I must
