Long passed are the four-score and seven years of our nation's founding.
Not so distant was a time of our dominance.
A time was not so long ago were we the world's sanctum.
Not so long ago was us who broke the European chains
And founded the primal Democratic nation of the Earth.
Not so long ago was our purchase that expanded our sanctuary,
And our own blitzkrieg, granting us the power of two seas.
Not so long ago did our Captain rise and declare war,
Freeing Our brothers and sisters from their grievous burden.
Not so long ago was our mistake, the destruction of a proud race.
Woe to the Creek of Sand and to the Trails that brought Tears.
Not so long ago was joy felt between a merging
Of Omaha's trail and Sacramento's steel.
Not so long ago did Europe drag us into their conflict,
Resulting in the Marne's second victory.
Not so long ago did a Dark Tuesday engulf our economy
As our Captain stated fear is the only fearful force.
Not so long ago were we forced, yet again into a worldly war,
Emerging from the Swastikas and the Rising Sun's Land as a world power.
Not so long ago were those days of battle
Where our allies gazed upon us with valor, and our enemies of fear.
Not so long ago did we fight the Red Flags,
Pushing them north of the 38th parallel.
Not so long ago did we journey to the final frontier.
Here was so proudly stated of mankind's giant leap.
Recently, oh so the woe, has a generation of failure dominated.
Our glory seems now a lesser glimmer of not so long ago.
Recently was the misfortune of our most valorous,
Sent to die in the forsaken punji traps.
Recently was that land victorious against our sanctum,
Allowing Red's short lived domino effect.
Recently have political leaders caused scares of Red,
And our Captain's scandal in Gates of Water.
Recently was it decided the unborn of no right of life,
And religious tolerance of none in a public place.
Recently has our education stumbled,
Causing our youth a lesser of knowledge.
Recently has the deserts of Middle Lands burden our protectors.
Again our people stand divided in recent wars.
Recently has war and conflict brought another burden
That nearly pierced our sanctuary like a black Depression.
Today is the day of continued discrimination
Of those who wish to marry in similar sex.
Today is the day of continued battle in Middle deserts,
And the distrust of the people toward their governed consent.
Today is the day that tries men's souls.
A new generation must step fourth and create tomorrow.
Tomorrow is the day we wear religious symbols without punishment
And marry the ones we love in the sake of matrimony's bond.
Tomorrow is the day race will be judged not,
And we will be a true United sanctum.
Tomorrow is the day our unborn will be protected as citizens.
On this tomorrow our Captain will speak truth to the people.
Tomorrow is the day our education will reclaim its place,
Being the pinnacle of worldly knowledge.
Tomorrow is the day the sunshine patriot may claim
The say of the winter soldier's say.
Tomorrow is not that day, I say this claim everyday.
I am proud to be who I am, An American.
