We Shall Overcome

Location

A million fiery feet are a spring storm,

Tiny black school shoes scuffed up by the street

These stone walls we've been climbin',

Why, one day they'll be smashed bricks and history

Without a backward glance we pound,

Through ignorance and Birmingham,

To the church on Sixteenth

Can you hear our great crusade?

Songs sung in miniature voices,

By little ones who can't yet tie their shoes,

They all make quite the scene

So let them tough boys bring out their cuffs,

They'll never bring down me
