We Control the Standards

Thu, 06/12/2014 - 15:14 -- mmazor

We feel the need to change ourselves.

Rearrange ourselves.

Our features and faces, we wax and we tweeze

Applying the colorful goos and powders as we please.

And why? In the name of those around us.

For all the societal regulations that surrond us.

Have we no identity? No thought? No self-respect?

To treat our physical beings like gods, and our psychological beings with neglect.

If we wish for the others to look at us for our hearts and our minds,

We have to change and break these standards. To stop being so blind.
