Watching Wilt

I sit here in my room
oblivious to the mess outside
to the wilt at my door
the death on the shore
the things people choose to ignore

The world falls apart outside of my room
it writhes
it rots
it cries
it dies
I watch the world wilt outside of my room

Something should be done
to cure the wilt
to clean oil spilt
to remove the poisons from the air
But only money talks, far more fair

So I sit in my room
watching the activist be hushed
watching the reef bleach
watching the jungle be brushed
Hearing the world scream.

As I watch the wilt, watch it with me
it will swallow this world
it is the result of man
and they do it because greed tells them they can.
